How tuition works
Here is what sets tuition, what the extras are for, and where to find the figures.
What sets tuition
Tuition depends on the class, on how many classes a week a student takes and on the age group. Weapons and the performance group are added to a student's regular forms class. The figures are on our registration page, and we are glad to talk them through by phone.

Registration
A joining charge covers the school's file for your student, a first uniform and a white sash. It is due when you book your first class after the trial.
Holding a place
A place is held when you register. When a class is full we keep a waitlist and call in the order families joined; a place that opens goes to the next family within a day. Children's classes have up to 12 students.
Billing
Tuition is billed monthly by autopay. You see the schedule of payments when you register, and the office can answer questions by phone on any open afternoon.
Siblings
A second student in the family is handled differently from the first. Ask us when you register and we will explain how.
Withdrawing
Tuition runs month to month after a first session. To stop or to pause, tell us in writing 30 days ahead; the month in progress is billed as usual. Ask us how pausing works for illness or travel.
Missed classes and make-ups
A missed class can be made up in another class of the same age group in the same session. Book it at the front desk or by message.
Uniforms, sashes and other costs
A uniform and the first sash are part of joining. Later sashes, sash tests and a practice weapon of your own are bought separately; the school lends practice weapons for class. Seminars and outside events are optional.
