Wushu in Alhambra
A taolu is a set routine: stances, kicks and hand work linked into one form. We teach them a movement at a time, from a first stance to staff and saber. The practice staffs wait in the rack beside the mat.

Pick a day, then narrow by age or by kind of class. Classes run 45 to 75 minutes.

Four instructors share the week. Every instructor who teaches children has a background check and CPR and first aid training.

Head coach, forms and weapons
Aiguo leads the school and teaches the weapons class, the performance group and the Thursday adult class. He speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English, and greets families at the door before the evening classes.

Instructor, taijiquan and adult forms
Chunhua teaches the slow forms for adults and parents on Tuesday evening and Saturday. She speaks Mandarin and English, and she is the person to ask when you have never done a class like this.

Instructor, forms for ages 8 to 16
Tianyu teaches the forms classes for ages 8 to 11 and shares the teen performance class. He speaks Cantonese and English, and he runs the sash tests.

Instructor, little forms for ages 5 to 7
Jiamin teaches the youngest group on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. She speaks Mandarin and English and keeps the warm-up a game.
How we run class
What our instructors have completed, and the routines every class follows.
Ages 5 to adult
Children sign in at the front desk and stay in the room until a parent or a named adult comes in for them. We check who is collecting.
Children's classes have up to 12 students, teen classes up to 14 and adult classes up to 16.
Staffs and sabers are wooden or blunt. They stay in the rack until an instructor hands them out, and they are used for forms, never for contact.
Shoes stay off the mat. Jewelry comes off, hair is tied back and nails are short. Uniforms are washed between classes.
Sample details.
“Classes start on time and every form is taught a little at a time. My son practices the opening of his form at the kitchen counter and asks to show his grandparents on Saturday.”
“My daughter joined the teen class after one trial. The coach explains each movement and where it comes from, and she has started teaching her sister the stances.”
“A friend brought me to the Tuesday taijiquan class. The pace is slow, the corrections are quiet, and I walk out with my shoulders down.”
Sample reviews.
Choose a class on the booking page and come in a plain t-shirt and loose pants. We lend a uniform for that first visit.
